Ardice

Interactive daytime activities platform for seniors

@webapp | @videocall | @ux

The Problem | The aging population is facing an increasing sense of loneliness, and with fewer activity counselors available, we recognized the importance of incorporating a blend of online and physical activities that focus on social interaction, prevention and fun. By bridging the gap between digital and physical experiences, we aim to create an innovative and inclusive platform that supports the well-being of the elderly.

The Solution | The project involved designing a platform specifically for the elderly, where they could watch online content and participate in live workshops. We took charge of creating the brand, designing the platform and developing a new technology for group video calls.

The logo design for the Ardice elderly app

Branding | Origin of the name: Hebrew, meaning: blooming field

Just like a field in bloom, we have endless potential to grow, improve, and make this world a more beautiful place through our unique contributions.

Our project owner hails from the Netherlands, and that's why I chose to incorporate the stylized tulip flower in the logo. By modifying the letter "e" to resemble a leaf, a sense of unity in the logo's design was achieved.

Testing the Ardice app with the end users

The Process | My role encompassed defining user problems and prioritizing high-value items to achieve set goals. This involved crafting a lean canvas for the product to align the entire team, developing a product roadmap, and shaping the ARDICE brand. The journey commenced with collecting quantitative data through surveys to understand the target audience's preferences.

Empathy | Building empathy was crucial, and we achieved this through discussions with seniors, extensive research, and consultations with experts in elderly care, including geriatricians, nurses, and care facility volunteers. These interactions guided the creation of empathy maps, shaping our ideation phase and influencing product development.

Testing |Shaping the product's design, adherence to the predefined roadmap was maintained throughout the product lifecycle. In the next stage, the focus shifted to designing an MVP with a strong emphasis on UX and UI, involving the crafting of user journeys refined through testing feedback. Stakeholders were consistently informed about the progress, and effective communication among team members was facilitated to ensure the project stayed on course.
